I’ve lived in the city of Camden almost my whole life. Finally, I’m actually seeing changes. Positive changes.
On September 15, I had the opportunity to attend an event at which some of these changes were discussed. Among those who spoke were New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, Mayor Dana Redd, and Superintendent Paymon Rouhanifard. Governor Christie in particular spoke about many interesting facts that were very appealing to me, but the part that stood out most was when he discussed the improvement of Camden schools.
This information was very intriguing because of my eagerness to learn and be successful. The improvement of schools increases the chances given to children in the community. When the panelists discussed education, it spoke to the education at Freedom Prep. Our school focuses on helping scholars be contributors to our community.
At Freedom Prep, we learn how different actions, small or large, can not only benefit our community, but also the world. We try to take actions that positively impact others’ lives. Our school’s goal is to help scholars work hard, go to college, and change the world. I can’t wait to see more of these positive developments in Camden.
